War is coming, child. Destiny waits for no one, and prophecy has already chosen its champion. As ancient powers begin to stir, and old enemies arise, a group of demigods struggle to survive. Being led by the only daughter of Hestia, and the son of Poseidon. Their choices will determine the fate of them all. Remember children, destiny has never been kind to heroes. Or when, Icarus falls in love with the sun, for the final time. *✧・゚: *✧・゚: Book 1 of 3 in the Divine Series *✧・゚: *✧・゚: Icaria Kane's body was utterly exhausted. She had pushed herself past her breaking point, and still continued on as if nothing were wrong. The demigod knew that if she allowed herself even a moment to rest, her soul would crack in two. No, now was not the time for weakness. If anything, Icaria had to be stronger. She refused to watch someone she loved fall into the hands of death again. If that meant breaking her body, so be it. There was one, who noticed the young girl breaking apart. She watched the bags beneath Icaria's eyes grow darker, and saw her begin to eat less and less. It was the same savior who had rescued Icaria all those years ago, and the goddess refused to watch her Hunter suffer any longer. The goddess, Artemis, stepped out of her tent in the early morning light. All of her Hunters were resting. Taking the much needed opportunity to relax with the very few days of peace they had left. All except one. In the distance, the goddess could hear the distinct sound of metal striking wood. She approached with quiet steps, watching Icaria Kane from afar. The Hunter breathed heavily, her shoulders slumped with exhaustion. The sword in her hand trembled. "Icaria?" Artemis asked, stepping through the early morning fog. "Why do you cry?" The demigod turned her body away from her goddess, clutching Hearth so tightly that her knuckles turned white. Icaria silently begged herself not to cry in front of Artemis. This was not the time to break.
