When the new arrival Thomas comes up in the box, the Gladers face new challenges. However, Thomas suffers flashbacks from before the maze to which he recognises a girl who is slightly younger than she is now in the flashbacks and is already here and is loved and worshipped by everyone and another girl who is to later arrive. Y/n must continue to help guide these boys some she has know for years and some she has known for a few months. Gally, Newt and Minho her best friends continue to protect her.
