I've recently become such a devoted fan of Michael Jackson, and it honestly breaks my heart that I only discovered his magic after he was gone. It feels like a love with no physical place to land - a love that lives somewhere between admiration, imagination, and longing for the kindness he gave to the world. This short story takes place between 1990 and 1992, during the Dangerous era, when Michael was at the height of his fame yet still searching for peace. It follows a young woman who, after attending one of his concerts, unexpectedly finds herself offering Michael a safe place to stay for the night when paparazzi make it impossible for him to return to his hotel.
