"Slade's death was not your call and I respected that-" "No, you were forced to accept it because you couldn't stop me. You wanted me to spare him, just like every single one of your sons have up until that point, but how did that work out? When did Slade ever face justice for all the things he had done after they spared him? He deserved to die for everything he had done!" "It is not our place-" "Then thank f*ck that it actually was my place to do what you never could!" Bruce clenched his jaw. They stared at each other for a long moment before Bruce finally said, "We fight for justice, not vengeance. If you allow yourself to sink down to that place, you may never come back. It will kill you if you keep on fighting to avenge things that have not even happened yet" Nico stared at his father, the rage that had been boiling underneath his skin every second since he had woken up back in November began to break through the surface. He took off his domino mask and tossed it onto the table, making sure that Bruce had to look at his eyes-- the ones that no longer resembled the fourteen year old that Bruce had once asked to join his family. Nico had two goals when he moved to Gotham #1- help new demigods get to Camp #2- don't meet the Waynes He didn't have anything against the family, how could he when he was only told about them the day before he moved, but he had heard about the serial adoption of black haired kids. He already had a strained relationship with his father, he didn't need a second one. -------- As Nico sat in the park with the random boys he befriended, he finally felt normal. They didn't know who his father was; hell, they thought his father was dead. He was quite literally the most free he had been since Italy and even then, it was under Mussolini at the time so that was a bit of a stretch. The calm seemed universal throughout the group until Tim's phone rang. "Oh shit, it's Bruce." Immediately all of them were on alert scanning the surrounding area while Tim talked on the phone, panic in his eyes. "He was on the other side of the park for a walk between meetings and saw a picture of us walking in the park online," Tim said as soon as he hung up. "Wait wait wait" Nico said as Jason looked like he was preparing to literally throw him into the tree. "Bruce as in Bruce Wayne? You're the Wayne's?! And why are you acting like he's gonna shoot me on sight?" "He's gonna shoot adoption papers at you." Damian mumbled, once again begrudgingly reviving a high five from Tim and Dick. Jason just rolled his eyes as he made his hands a step for Nico to get in the tree. "Yes we're the Wayne's. How do you know of us, but not have a clue what we look like?" Nico climbed onto the lowest branch that was a good six feet off the ground. The Ghost King is a supervillain, and he's searching for something. Nico di Angelo is a villain to the whole city; the media is on his back daily, and police chases have become a regular part of his life. If he was even a little more spiteful, he would start committing real crimes-not just the minor break-ins he's been charged with so far. The Ghost King is a supervillain, but luckily there's a superhero here to protect you from him. Sunburst spends his days chasing after the Ghost King, cursing the Ghost King for making him skip school to go defend the city, and bickering with the Ghost King. Will Solace is sure that he's going to be the one to finally get the bounty for the Ghost King. The Ghost King is a supervillain. So why won't he hurt anyone? The first time Will Solace died, he was stabbed. At first, no one noticed, as they were much too caught up in their own battles to see. No one noticed the Son of Apollo rush to his monster surrounded boyfriend. No one noticed a monster headed straight towards him. No one noticed it throw him on the ground and stabbing him in the heart, killing him instantly. No realized until they saw the body. Frank found him first. Nico and Will are roommates. Nico is closed off and pushing Will away but Will can't understand why. One day, Nico stands up and his shirts falls to the side exposing blue and purple bruises on his neck. Nico winced and grabs his side. Will starts pushing for answers but Nico won't tell him anything so eventually, Will gives up. Until he accidentally walks in on Nico is the bathroom and sees his chest and shoulders littered with bruises and scars. Nico Di Angelo didn't exist. Okay, yeah, he did exist. But not really to anyone outside of his small friend group. And even then, he was a quiet kid. It was easy for him to almost disappear even when he was with friends. He kind of blended in with the shadows, with the background. Will Solace was pretty well known, however. He wasn't exactly a popular kid, per say, but he was one that everyone knew. Everyone had some sort of story about him, whether it was simply having a class with him, or having to witness him fall out of a tree. When Will is told he has to go to high school, he doesn't have much of an opinion. Go there, protect some students, hang out with people he barely knew, be over with it. Fine, whatever. Though he finds himself having to be near a Nico Di Angelo an awful lot... Nico'd rather not be near anyone, period. People were annoying, after all, and he didn't trust them much. He was only here because he didn't feel like saying no. He's forced to be near a certain Will Solace, though, and said Will Solace may just change his mind on people. After a tiring, odd quest for normalcy at a high school, Nico and Will would like nothing more to just hang out and cuddle in the Hades cabin. Instead, they find that they missed some large attack-leaving the camp in a pretty sad state, and the Infirmary packed. And Will seems to be refusing to stop working in said Infirmary.
