Continuation of The King's Dancer! Xie Lian thought he'd finally settled into his new life in WuYong with the king as his soon-to-be husband/mate. He'd expected the hurdles that lay before them, some of them at least, and he'd even thought he could be genuinely happy again after the tragedy that had hit Xian Le about a year ago. However, what Xie Lian hadn't expected was for his alpha to go missing --- Arc 1/3 --- Spoilers for all 5 books!!!!

--- Arc 2/3 --- Hua Cheng had just left Guishi behind and was on the journey back home to his palace in Banyue. He'd already been excited to finally see his gege and their two children again, after having been separated for a few weeks because of his royal duties. However, a strange, rat-like creature led him astray into a deep forest, far away from his entourage. Inside this forest, he found a pagoda, which he soon realised functioned as a gate of sorts that, once he stepped through it, led him to discover more about his kingdom, as well as himself, than he'd ever hoped to learn. And to think he only wanted to reunite with his family as soon as possible... Spoilers for all 5 books!!!!

---Arc 3/3--- Dealing with the aftermath of everything left Xie Lian feeling overwhelmed, but he quickly realises that, the more things had changed, the more they stayed the same, especially in regards to his now bonded mate. Hua Cheng certainly changed a lot during his absence, but his personality and love for Xie Lian are still as steadfast and deep as they always had been. Despite the trauma their family needs to overcome, Xie Lian just knows that they will be fine eventually.

Snippets of HuaLian's reign of WuYong throughout history all the way to the present, where Xie Lian thinks it's about time for them to focus on themselves instead of the country. Thus, he moves out, knowing Hua Cheng will follow him wherever Xie Lian chooses to go. He doesn't know when his husband of over 2000 years will follow though, and neither does he know which role he'll slip into before introducing himself as whichever persona he chooses. He does know that it'll be exciting though, and he can't wait for them to get to know each other all over again! He also didn't know he would get kidnapped at some point, but that was an unimportant little detail anyway. I highly advise to read The King's Dancer and The King's Mate before reading this part, because you probably will be very confused otherwise. Also please beware of content warnings in the author's notes before reading!
