"Mice are skittish," he whispers, cool, daunting breath fanning over her paling face, "always running. But in the end?" He steps closer, hand outstretched, "They get caught in the trap." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Barbara had a sister. Eleanor survived Hawkins. Barely. Something watches her. Not hunting. Not saving. Just... learning. He offers quiet. Control. Safety that feels wrong the second it works. And she lets it. Trapped, trembling, alive. And somehow, for reasons she can't explain, she's not running.

He doesn't take you by force. He takes you because he can't stop thinking about you. In the mind-world of the Creel House, Henry Creel does not collect people at random. He chooses you - older, aware, inconveniently perceptive - and keeps you close in ways that feel deliberate, long before they feel frightening. The children come later. They are easier. They believe what they're told. You don't. That's the problem. Henry calls it interest. Curiosity. A necessary fixation. But the truth is simpler and far more dangerous: you make him feel exposed. Seen. Real. And he resents you for it almost as much as he wants you there. He doesn't need your help with the children. He needs you to stay. This is a story about obsession that breeds control, about vulnerability used as leverage, about a monster who does not want to love - but does not know how to stop choosing you. This is a psychological descent where protection becomes possession, tenderness becomes strategy, and the most terrifying question is not how do you escape - but why haven't you tried.

Hawkins Lab raised me to be quiet, compliant, and forgettable, and for years that's exactly what I became. After three years on the run, being brought back feels less like capture and more like fate catching up. Henry creel still walks these halls, carrying secrets of his own, and every flickering light feels like a warning. Nothing here is what it seems-not the experiments, not the people, and certainly not me. Some subjects survive by being seen. Others survive by being overlooked.

Hawkins National Laboratory runs on routine: checklists, keycards, fluorescent lights, and the understanding that nothing here is personal. You learn this quickly, just a few days into the job that was forced onto you. You also learn that Peter Ballard never walks the same route twice, never stands where the cameras linger too long, and never looks at you unless you're alone. You are both orderlies-interchangeable, invisible, trained to keep your heads down and your mouths shut. Friendship is discouraged. Attachment is a liability. Affection is a violation. So you talk in hallways without microphones. You pass notes meant to be destroyed. You pretend not to notice when he positions himself between you and certain doors. Peter says the lab is watching everyone. Later, in a voice barely above a whisper, he tells you who you should really be afraid of. You should report him. You should keep your distance. You should never follow him off-camera. But the spaces between cameras are the only places you ever feel safe-and Peter is the only one who knows how to find them. Before the blood. Before the fire. Before he stops hesitating- you make a choice that was never cleared.
