Everyone feared the boss. Stern. Silent. Sharp as a Monday morning. He walked through glass doors like he owned time itself. Deadlines bent for him. People straightened up. No one dared look him in the eyes for too long.
Except for them-his new assistant.
Not because they were brave. Not because they didn't know better. But because their eyes... were a kind of blue that rewrote rules.
It wasn't the usual sky blue or ocean cliché. It was storm blue-alive, restless, like it knew things. Like it had seen love ruin kingdoms and still dared to believe in it.
The boss tried not to look. He had empires to run. Spreadsheets to command. A heart that had been locked up with passwords even he had forgotten. But those eyes... those eyes laughed at firewalls.
Every "Sir, you have a 3PM call," turned into poetry. Every shared glance over coffee was a battlefield's he kept losing.
Until one day, she said with a smile, "You keep avoiding my eyes. What are you afraid of?"
He chuckled, something rare and slightly dangerous.
"I'm afraid," he said, "that if I keep looking, I'll never get any work done again.
