It all began with a kiss, with Alex, my best friend, my band mate, which got me thinking, am I gay? The audience was yelling now. "Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!" They chanted. I blinked, confused. "What?" Alex asked a fan. "Okay" he murmured and made his way over to me. I raised at eyebrow but he didn't say anything. He grabbed my face and softly pecked me on the lips. Dumbfounded I just stood there. "Alright!" Alex picked up the mic skillfully. "This ones called weightless. Hit it!" The drums kicked in and I played as alex pranced around on stage. After that show, fans ordered us to kiss at every venue we performed at. Became a regular thing I guess. I just wished the kisses would last longer... So I admit. I, Jack Barakat, have a crush on my best friend and fellow bandmate, Alex Gaskarth.

I'd lost count of how many people had gaped at my arm with shocked expressions and open mouths, curious voices unsure of whether or not they wanted to know the answer asking, "Did you cut your arm?" By third period, I'd gotten so fucking sick of repeating the same excuse that my sarcastic asshole side had leaked out. So, I'd been responding to my classmates appalled questions with something along the lines of, "Yes, I cut myself." There was a kind of sick humor to it - technically, I was telling the truth. Mute. That's what they would call him. Alan Ashby has been mute for 1 years not speaking to nobody because he had no one simply to speak to. After his parents nearly shunned him as soon as he came out of the closet. He didn't have anyone no family nor friends to talk with. He has absolutely nothing. That was until Austin Carlile came along. He was the star baseball player at the school who happened to be openly gay and no one minded really, sure there was the few people at the school who would call him a 'fag' but he didn't care because he was happy with who he was as a person. Then everything almost shifted. He ran into some boy who caught his attention. The 'mute' kid that no one talked to. He quickly gained interest in the little ginger and wanted to befriend him or maybe something more but first he needed to find out exactly why the ginger was mute in the first place.

Vic is the new boy in the school, with a few dirty secrets. Kellin is the average boy with a pretty good life. What happens when these two meet?
