Until Crowley enlists her to find the culprit of a series of attacks on the school's top players. Urged on by Grim, the threat of getting her food cut off, and finally one of the only normal, even-keeled people at this school falling victim to the culprit's machinations, she enlists the members of Heartslabyul into her impromptu investigation team. Will her years of watching Detective Conan finally pay off? Will she survive her venture into Furry Territory? And who is this horned bishie lurking around her dorm at night?

One random day-- not even a week after the disastrous events of the Heartslabyul duel-- she opens the door of Ramshackle on her way to class in the morning, only to be confronted by Sebek Zigvolt, the tall and extremely loud Diasomnia first-year she had a brief run-in with at the stables the other day. She doesn't WANT to let him tag along with-- or rather, stalk-- her for an entire school day, but she doesn't really have much of a choice, since the Headmaster granted him special permission to briefly 'transfer' classes and shadow her all day. The reason? Apparently, he's a bodyguard-slash-retainer for the mysterious Malleus Draconia, who she still hasn't seen hide nor hair of, by the way. Actually kind of impressive, at sixteen... But apparently, he's decided that SHE is a suspicious enough figure to warrant closer investigation, what with the whole 'magicless girl at magic boys' school' thing. Well- honestly, she can't really blame him... But this new addition to her usual entourage of Grim, Ace and Deuce isn't shaping up to be smooth sailing, especially with her red and blue braincells apparently feeling like they have to protect her, for some reason. She's a little flattered, to be honest... But she really, REALLY can't wait for this day to be over.

...Doing this was risky. Kat knew that. If she got caught, she'd get in serious trouble... God knows what Crowley would say if he caught her alone in the Mirror Chamber in the middle of the night... Even though she really, genuinely isn't up to anything suspicious. Plus, here at a magic school, pretty much anything could happen... Especially since she's going poking around the very artifact that serves as the heart of the entire academy. But she needs answers. Any answer at all-- even the barest scrap of information, about how she'd arrived here, why she was summoned... And how to get home. If it was to get home.... She'd risk anything.

When Ace shows up at the Ramshackle House door at a godforsaken hour of the morning, she still hasn't completely forgiven him for the chandelier-related drama, but as the technically legal adult, didn't feel right leaving a 16-year-old outside to sleep in the bushes (even though inside isn't really much better). She's less than sympathetic, since he DID pretty much bring this on himself, but agrees to go with him to apologize to Housewarden Riddle Rosehearts, since it looks like that's the only way he's gonna take the consequences for his actions. Of course, this doesn't go as easily as planned, because when does anything at this school? A whole lot of shenanigans are sure to ensue, including encounters with two whole catboys, an extremely vague and rambling explanation of bird reproduction, and the destruction of a very important marron tart that might just be the thing that finally pushes her over the edge and into full-on feral, rage-filled goblin mode.... If somebody else doesn't beat her to it first.

Please, she is so gay and so, so lonely. ______________________________________ Writing the events of Twisted Wonderland as if I (or at least a version of myself that would actually progress the story) were the main character. CW: Swears (I swear like a sailor), descriptions of violence (describing in-game events; my style gets pretty prosey.) A lot of artistic license/minor worldbuilding/details/etc. Probably no ships; definitely no selfships or MC/OC+Canon ships or whatever you wanna call it. If there are ships, they're gonna be more subtext than anything else. If I go too OOC with ur faves I'm sorry, I'm doing my best but I'm dumb and mostly just try to get the 'vibes' right for each character; also might comedically exaggerate some traits for Shenanigans purposes sometimes.
