The medicine cat of Thunderclan, Deerfang struggles in Leafbare. Many cats are sick and have Green cough, which turns into Black cough. She and her apprentice Poppypaw try their best, but can't save all cats. Then Deerfang gets a prophecy about a Thunderclan cat. Deerfang doesn't understand at first, but it seems like it's about Hawkkit, Mistmoon's second kit. The Thunderclan deputy, Chestnutleap is having a hard time in Leafbare. A lot of her clanmates are taken by Starclan and Chestnutleap doesn't feel the way a deputy should for her clan. She decides to leave the clan, so she can become a different cat. But is it the right decision to leave? Chestnutleap must now discover who she's truly loyal to.
