Ishan jerks back with surprise, causing his lips to brush against Shubman's neck. Shubman closes his eyes, says slowly, "Don't tell me you don't feel this too," he presses his thumb against Ishan's lower lip softly, so gentle that Ishan barely feels the touch.

At the age of twenty-four Shubman Gill is peaking the highs of his career, doing things others could only ever dream about. Career centric, money minded and introverted that is what he has always been cricket being the most important thing in his life, but he too had someone to control him and keep him grounded. The nation's 'heart-throb' has definitely lost his heart to his best friend, and even better than that the supposed best friend is his manager, social media that is. Interesting, right? Ishan had a knack for attracting people, that was his modus operandi.That led him to choose a job that required his very socially active persona, being the Indian Cricket Team's public relations manager is definitely a hard job, but he had someone who made that job easier; his best friend definitely was the easiest to manage. Only recently things have got a bit complicated for him, when he realises he certainly does not only like women. But best friends are brothers, or so they said.

Shubman and Ishan are from different faculties of the same university and captains of their respective cricket teams. As per the new rule, they have to collaborate and team-up to train and play the inter-university tournament. Disclaimer: This is just a work of fiction. Friends with benefits, but make it sad. Hi, This was supposed to be a one shot but it keeps getting longer. So I decided to break it into 3 parts (earlier it was supposed to be 2). The title of the story is from the song "High" by 5 seconds of summer. The image is from Pinterest that I edited. This story was not inspired by any recent events. I started writing it way back and I just don't seem to be able to complete it. I started writing it while listening to "Casual" by Chappell Roan. (I can't believe I wrote about two men while listening to this. I am so sorry.) But pls give it a listen if you haven't already. Also, the story does not exactly have explicit graphic sexual content but some of it and it is definitely implied. So, pls let me know if I should be tagging it as mature. I don't usually write stuff like this. So, I kind of hate it man and it's hard to write too. I don't know if I'll be able to get their dynamics right. Might delete it if I end up hating it even more. I don't know if it's too bad. About the story, it has the usual yearning longing type of shit from my other one-shots I would say. Just make it somewhat toxic and the characters dumber lol. There's some friends with benefits type of situation going on. It also has some flashback scenes in between. I hope it won't be confusing.
