Life on the Jersey Shore was always romanticized in TV and print media, but for twelve year old Lucca Leoni, it was a place of constant bullying and misery. Unlike his cousins that spent the summers attempting to hit on girls on the boardwalk, Lucca spent his summer avoiding his tormentors, by working on his floor routine in gymnastics. Genetics weren't kind to Lucca, he was barely reaching 4'7" and weighed a measly 65 pounds, as he entered Middle School. The seventh grade girls were two to three inches taller than he was and outweighed him by at least ten pounds. The boys towered over by Lucca by at least six inches and outweighed him by 30-40 pounds. When you paired his height and weight with his long wavey brown hair, he was often mistaken for a ten year old girl.
