After a long battle against justice, Evan Buckley, mostly known as Buck is finally back at house 118. Injured in duty, his main purpose always was to take back his job on behalf his captain, persuaded he wasn't ready yet. When pursuing the city and his friends in justice, Buck lost the trust and faith of his colleagues and his return maybe won't be what he expected. After all he've been through, the eyes of his best friend could be the most difficult thing to survive. And sadly the year promises to be particularly tough and he might well need the support of his friends. His family. And specially Eddie's. Buck is 9 when his sister leaves him and his family alone for her boyfriend Doug when she turns 18. Still at age 9, Buck realizes he's getting even less and less attention from his parents causing him to increase his reckless ideas from skateboarding accidents to playing with fires. He's craving any type of attention from his parents even negative. Bobby Nash firefighter Captain of the 118 lost his family in a fire. His firehouse gets a call of a reported house fire and the only person saved is a small kid named Evan Buckley. Without any family willing to take him, and the police unable to locate his sister, Bobby gets clearance to give the child a roof over his head. He was drawn to the boy, and he knows he can take good care of him.

Set after the events of 911 Season 6 Episode 9, Red Flag... Eddie makes his choice and pursues a relationship with Buck. This comes with the trials and tribulations of getting together, being in love, the lightning strike, Buck's recovery, the secret relationship reveal, parental drama, and Buck's past as a SEAL coming back to haunt the 118. I wrote a large chunk of this story during the winter hiatus. Started posting on the archive in February. All of this is already posted there. You may have already read this there. This story will be ongoing and will deal with some heavy themes. Trigger warning up front. They will deal with, but not tolerate homophobia, ableism, Bobby's AA, Buck's history of abuse, Maddie's is mentioned, Eddie's family drama. These triggers and others make an appearance... None are tolerated, and they overcome things as a team and a family. There will be drama, angst, violence, smut, cursing, etc... There will be some angst between the characters. No character bashing ... they actually will deal with their issues to move past them. There is some drama between Buck and Maddie very early ... and then Buck and Eddie against Bobby... Eddie and Bobby, Buck and Chim... These are done to actually deal with plots the show leaves hanging.
