They were supposed to be partners. They were never supposed to fall. They meet as sergeants from opposite ends of the LAPD-two leaders, two reputations, and zero patience for each other. When an undercover operation requires them to pose as a couple, neither is thrilled. Tim Bradford thinks Lucy Chen is too soft; Lucy thinks Tim is all walls and no heart.

Tim never really cuddled before Lucy. After she held him as they watched an entire football game, he learned that he likes being in her embrace. Now that he knows how perfect it can be, Tim wants to be in Lucy's arms all the time. Lucky for him, she loves cuddling, too.

In which Lucy becomes the assistant to CEO Tim Bradford. Little does she know, he's an actual vampire. Chenford Vampire AU. - Lucy takes a step back, then pauses. "Do you ever leave before dark?" His eyes lift to hers, sharp and unreadable. "Usually not." "Why not?" He shrugs. "Fewer interruptions." "Right." She gives a small laugh. "You know, I'm starting to think my joke during the interview wasn't such a joke. Maybe you are a vampire." Tim doesn't laugh. For a second, she thinks he didn't hear. But he had; his eyes flicker, quick, like a warning light. "I mean," she adds hastily, "you never eat, you never go outside, you don't like sunlight-it's kinda a pattern." He holds her gaze for a moment longer, then says simply, "Good night, Lucy." She feels heat climb up her neck. "Good night."

In which Lucy and Tim go on a long-term undercover assignment...as a married couple...after their breakup. It goes as well as you'd expect. Post S6 finale Chenford fic. - "Why'd you volunteer, Tim?" Lucy asks quietly. It's the question that's been plaguing her for the past two days, ever since she saw his name on the list. There's a lot of things that Tim hates, but she's pretty sure undercover work might be at the forefront. Yet, he had volunteered to do a long-term op, posing as her husband. She knows he's trying to pay everything back to her-small doses, he had said. But... This is a lot. This isn't just some small dose. This is just about as big as a dose that anything could be. "Because," Tim starts heavily, "I'll always have your back. As long as you'll let me."

She knows better than to let him touch her. But behind closed doors, better doesn't matter. It's the way he pulls her close like she already belongs there. The way her breath breaks when his mouth finds her skin. The way she forgets her own name when he says it low enough. No one sees what happens in the dark. And she'd rather die than admit how much she needs it.

Tim and Lucy wont admit their feelings for eachother, but don't like to see them with any one else. Tim goes out on a date with Ashley as a distraction, and Lucy runs into an old friend. How does this make the other feel. Hint, its in the title! Season 4/5 AU if they got their shit together sooner.
