Grian has escaped his horrible high school years, finally happy away from Sam in Hermitcraft. One day, Mumbo goes missing, and Grian finds out that an old friend of his might have to do with it. (I use Grumbo purely PLATONICALLY. Also, the cover art is not mine.)

Despite the hardships of Double Life, the players have returned for another game, which has been dubbed Triple Life. No one's health is linked, but everyone is assigned one of three roles: Alpha, beta, or omega. These roles come with slight physical changes, new and sometimes surprising instincts, and the urge to form teams of three consisting of one of each role. Everyone must learn to navigate the changes brought by these roles, finding their teams and just trying to survive, all while dealing with an exceptionally cold map and whatever feelings may remain after their previous games together. One thing is for sure. It's going to be an interesting game. This was written post-Double Life but before Limited Life came out, so Limited Life is not canon to this. Sam was gone, for good, Mumbo had killed him and he hadn't respawned. He was dead. Grian trusted in the kindness of the world and he opened up, but that was his biggest mistake. Because what if Sam wasn't dead? What if they had been tricked by a simple hack? What if Scar and Mumbo went missing? What if they were taken? Grian would have to find out the consequences of those 'what if's the hard way. A sequel to "Sam's Back", I suggest reading that first if you haven't already since otherwise this won't make sense. A YHS/Hermitcraft fanfic. Angsty. There's some mild Grumbo shipping but it could just be seen as platonic. Also Scar/Cub shipping, but only really at the very end and you can ignore it if you want.
