Sorcha MacAlasdair, daughter of a proud Laird, with her quiet beauty and untameable nature, is like the heather that grows across the hills of her Highland home-nurturing, steadfast, and resilient. Betrothed in childhood, her marriage was forged in blood and duty, meant to bind two clans together against a common enemy. She asked for nothing and expected even less from the unwanted union-though in the quiet corners of her heart, she hoped it might become more than obligation. That, perhaps, love might grow from the bond her clan's future depended on. Calum MacRae resented the duty forced upon him. He saw Sorcha as a burden-a symbol of obligation, not choice. His heart belonged to Elspeth-a childhood friend whose charm and ambition shaped the future he believed he deserved. Though his Laird father warned him of sacred vows and the cost of defiance, Calum chose betrayal. He turned his back on Sorcha-insisting she remain a wife in name only. But war changes everything. Calum returns to a home scarred by conflict. A clan whose loyalties have wholly turned away from him. And a future far different from the one he abandoned her for. The woman he ignored-his inconvenient bride-has become the heart of the keep. Sorcha, the heather he once overlooked-wild, rooted, and impossible to break-is now the only thing standing between him and ruin.

**1st Draft, this will eventually be edited!** He heard voices coming from elsewhere as he rang the fancy bell for service. "I'll get it!" he heard a muffled small voice say before a young girl came from the door behind the counter "Hello Sir! And welcome to the Boardinghouse." The young girl said cheerfully. "Hello Miss, I would like a room." George said with a smile, the young girl had bouncy red curls and large icy blue eyes that were the same color as his own. Her smile seemed familiar but he knew he hadn't met the small girl before, yet the one before him seemed very familiar. "I don't know how to do that..." She said with a frown "Wait here I'll go get my Mama!" George smiled as she ran back through the doors yelling for her Mother. "Belinda Grace! It's not polite to shout indoors! You know that." He heard a familiar voice say, a voice he hadn't heard in around eight years. Scarlett his heart raced almost instantly as the very woman who filled his each and every dream for the past eight years walked out the door and greeted him. She seemed to have gotten even more beautiful if that were even possible. Her red hair no longer was confided to a fancy bun or hairstyle. It now fell past her waist in thick waves free and unruly while her bangs fell into her hauntingly beautiful Gray eyes. She had a simple smile on her face showing faint dimples on either side of her cheeks. Her skin was still the color of ivory but now housed several freckles which only made her more becoming. "How may I help you?" Scarlett asked bringing him from his thoughts. "Oh um... I-I'd like a room... with a bath." He said thankful for his overgrown facial hair. She didn't recognize him, and he was fine with that. He wasn't ready to face his wife he ran out on eight years ago.

For years, the families jested that one day their children would marry and make the connection official. As the young ladies prepare for their first Season, old friendships begin to shift and unexpected affections take root. Lady Abigail quietly captures the heart of Lord Jasper, now the newly titled Duke of Winterset, while Lady Charlotte clings to a long-held hope that Lord Philip will finally return her affections-only to find his attention lies elsewhere. Determined not to be left behind, Charlotte takes matters into her own hands, weaving a scandal that ripples through both families. Her deception sets in motion a chain of consequences no one could have foreseen. In the wake of her claims, Jasper-blinded by duty and fury-believes his sister has been wronged and turns his wrath on the woman he once adored. Unaware of the betrayal at play, Lady Abigail finds herself married to a man driven not by love, but by revenge. As lies begin to unravel and long-buried truths claw their way to light, Jasper must face the greatest question of all: will he recognize the truth before it's too late to mend what he's broken? *Trigger warning- contains mention of early miscarriage and of someone no longer wishing to live*

They had been the best of friends since childhood. She knew that he secretly wore spectacles. He knew that she had once stolen all the wine for the Eucharist from the parish church and blamed it on the town drunkard. There was very little that Amy Griffiths did not know about Lord Oliver Hollingsworth, the only friend she had ever had growing up in a tiny village where everybody knew everything about anybody. She was quite happy to rush headlong into spinsterhood while she tended to her mother and worked the small bookshop, and Lord Hollingsworth did not seem inclined to wed anytime soon having ensured no mother in her right mind would allow her daughter to consort with the likes of him after the whole debacle with his once intended, Miss Augusta Fleetwood, a few seasons ago. When Amy is convinced to visit London, little did the both of them realise how meddling some of his friends would be, and how adept at matchmaking the troublesome lot are. Soon, the delicate line between friendship and true love become harder to distinguish. Bit of a slow burn, sweet romance with MATURE content and a lot of humour.
