Let's be honest: there's a lot of bad advice floating around on Reddit and TikTok about how to "hack" the Wattpad algorithm or use the hashtags. Most of it is incorrect. It's exhausting to see many writers being misled. I wrote this guide to clear the air and give writers a realistic blueprint to Wattpad. Whether you're crafting your first story, or you're a seasoned writer tired of shouting into the void, this book is here to help you build a genuine, permanent audience that will follow you for the rest of your Wattpad career. There are no hacks or myths here, just real but simple strategies that work. Inside this guidebook, you'll discover the blueprint to: - How the Wattpad algorithm and tagging system work behind the scenes to push your book to readers. - The elements needed to make your profile and book covers look engaging and professional, and that align with your genre. - The keys to writing intriguing first chapter hooks, detailed and entertaining summaries, and exciting, fast-paced chapters that keep readers reading, voting, and commenting before hitting the next chapter. - Essential safety tips to protect you, your account, and stories from wrongful deletion from Wattpad's website and bullying/harassment. You do NOT need a secret formula to succeed on Wattpad as a writer. You just need the right facts. Now, let's get to work!

Welcome to the wonderful world of writing on Wattpad! This is Wattpad, not the Olympics, so there's no need to panic. Anyone can try it, no training required. Writing doesn't have to be complicated, and you don't have to be a graduate of some fancy university, but there are a few guidelines that will make things easier for you and your readers. I have tips for beginners who paid as little attention in English as I did, as well as details on things I've learned over the years. Anyone can write a story. I never thought I would write anything, but I tried it and - much to my surprise - I found it very relaxing and entertaining. Feel free to skip around the chapters to find sections that interest you. You are also welcome to skim everything in case you find a hidden gem of advice. Please note that my writing tips follow the Chicago Manual of Style writing guide (you are free to use a different guide - keeping things consistent is the biggest thing).
