Luckily, living in the walls of an apothecary shop isn't that bad, and Val enjoys his quiet life. But winter is coming, and when Val accidentally gets mixed up in a plant that Sorrel, the shop worker, takes home, he is suddenly confronted with his worst fear: coming face to face with a human.
