This group of poetry is a timeline of my teens through turmoil and peace. The first poem "Hope of Life" was written in 2004. The years and poems that followed outlined my struggles with faith, mankind, and even my self. Using poetry as a coping mechanism, it gave me hope through the years of trying to heal from an abusive childhood. I strive to be positive and you will see how I changed over the years. One of my last poems, "A Gift of God," was inspired by the pain that mothers suffer after enduring a miscarriage. I had witnessed the pain in my own mother's eyes. Eventually I began to heal through the pain I was feeling over the past and began looking towards the future. The last two poems are dedicated to Eduardo Sanchez, who helped me work through so much of my pain.
