This book follows Arrox, a hybrid dragon who lives in Arkens. Arkens is a kingdom in which its inhabitants believe hybrids to be cursed and violent. His mother, Vermilion, is the kingdom's sorceress, so Arrox lives in the castle. This sparks a deep hatred towards him by other hybrids who live in the Hybrids' Outskirts.
