One moment, I'm tracing my bleeding hand over vivid, newly unearthed frescoes of three striking men in a Late Republican villa, their features eerily reminiscent of the fresco I've studied since I was ten: Roman Senator Marcus Valerius, whose family vanished from history in 50 BC. The next, I'm sprawled across a marble floor in ancient Rome, pinned beneath the hard, commanding body of Marcus himself-flesh and blood, pulsing with raw power. And good grief, nothing captured the fire in his piercing stare or the way his touch ignites my traitorous body. But the history books lied. Marcus isn't the last Valerius. He has three brothers, each more dangerously captivating than the last-men I now know match those cryptic frescoes. Lucius, the battle-scarred warrior, whose heated grappling in the training yard leaves me breathless. Flavius, the silver-tongued diplomat, whose calculated caresses in shadowed corridors unravel my resolve. And Rufus, the freedman with knowing eyes, whose gentle touch conceals a hunger that sets my heart racing. Trapped in ancient Rome with no way home, I'm ensnared in a web of desire and deceit. The Valerii brothers want me-each in their own intoxicating way-and resistance feels like a losing battle. Worse, there is a fifth fresco, and it hides a chilling secret that threatens to upend everything I know. Am I a stranger in Rome, or the key to the Valerii family's mysterious erasure from history? With enemies closing in and time itself against me, I must choose: fight for a way back to my world or surrender to a fate that could rewrite the past.

The story takes place in ancient China. The day my elder sister was appointed Crown Princess, I volunteered to marry the sickly General Wei Shuhan. All of the capital laughed, saying I was picking up the trash my sister didn't want. On our wedding night, I smiled lightly at my coughing, blood-stained groom. "General, do you know you've been poisoned by three strange toxins?" When he gripped my throat, I spoke even more shocking words: "I wish to make a deal with you-wipe out my family for me, and I'll cure your poison and extend your life." By the flickering candlelight, his eyes turned crimson. "And if I refuse?" I brushed my hand across his chest. "Then the general will have no choice but to enter the underworld as a virgin." Later, when the poison flared up, he pressed me against the medicine vat, his burning breath brushing my ear. "The third poison... could it be a love curse?"

Liu Quiaqio, the Empress of the Jin Dynasty has given his heart, soul, and body to the emperor, he loved him to the point it exhausted him, but the cold emperor only had eyes for one person, and that person wasn't him, the warmth in his eyes when he looked at that person would never belong to him, the gentleness when he spoke to that person would never be heard by him until his death. "What wrongs have I committed, for you hate me this much? Did I do anything wrong for you to look at me with such contempt in your eyes? Was loving you such a sin?" I asked weakly "Your sin was that you loved somebody you weren't supposed to love," He responded coldly. 'He's right I squandered so much love on him that I did not have any left for my sons and my daughter, for the ones who truly cared about me. If I had one chance to make it up to them I would spend my whole life doing so' I thought as I closed my eyes and welcomed death or so I thought. *Not yet edited* My story! Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to." With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of. The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more. He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself. "Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it. I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him. "I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him. "You're beautiful." He said breathlessly. I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago. "I need to go," I told him. "Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness." "My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.
