Derek is 15 years old. he is meredith's next door neighbour. they've known eachother since they were kids but kind of grew apart over the years. they're still friends but haven't spoken in a while. he has a few close friends too but is definitely not popular. he's one of the invisible kids in school. People don't see him. he's dating someone but it's not serious at all. he's been in love with someone else for as long as he can remember. meredith grey.

Derek Is merediths worst nightmare in school. he makes her life hell.. meredith is a shy girl in her school. she basically has just 2 friends. izzie and cristina. and even they aren't too reliable. her life isn't the worst but definitely isn't the best.. but all of this will soon change when someone turns out to be not who she thought they were.
