COMPLETED Fiona I live a simple life. It's boring but it's mine. I'm content with my job and the story the numbers tell me. Numbers don't lie, they don't promise things they can't follow through on. They are true and steady and I was good with that. Or at least I thought I was. Then I had to go and help one drunk girl and next thing you know I'm immersed in a Sons of Anarchy episode. Nothing makes sense in this world. He says I can count on him, but I can't seem to calculate if it's worth the risk. Bash I ride, I fight and I fuck. When I'm not doing that, I'm hanging out with my club brothers, running the garage I own and keeping an eye on my annoying little sister. When she gets herself in a jam, I'm taken aback by the owl eyed girl who swooped in to rescue her. As much as I tried, I couldn't shake her from my mind. As much as I wanted her to ask me for something, she didn't need anyone's help. What do I do when the first woman to actually hold my interest hasn't looked at me twice? I need her, how do I convince her she needs me too?

Quick note for my readers before you start this story. It is going to be taken off and sent off to the editor on the 13th of December 2025. Fern thought marriage meant partnership, love, and the quiet safety of family. For four years she's tried to believe that-tried to ignore the sharp edges of a mother-in-law who never wanted her, an ex who had moved too close for comfort and a husband who is always looking the other way. But when her husband's negligence leaves their little girl in a hospital bed with burns on her hand, Fern can no longer swallow the excuses. She is done being the afterthought in her own marriage. Her husband Conner insists he loves her, but love doesn't keep a child safe. Love doesn't silence a mother-in-law's whispers or stop an ex from poisoning the air of every family gathering. Love isn't enough-not when Fern's entire world has been built on the shaky ground of compromise. And as the fractures in their marriage widen into fault lines, Fern has to face the question she's been afraid to ask- What if walking away is the only way to save herself and her daughter?
