"It's not a story of a hero fighting a dragon to save the world. It's the story of a dragon who will burn the world to the ground if anyone dares to touch his princess." I don't own Arnav and Khushi, and this story is purely fictional. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. This story is a submission to the 13th Anniversary Arshi Fiesta 2024, according to the moodboard Mafia AU x Age gap x Arshi on Tumblr. This story is inspired partly by one of my fav couples Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak aka Olicity from the CW show 'Arrow' which was made according to a DC comic character 'Green Arrow' and partly by darkverse. To enjoy this story you don't have to know any of these. It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

His heart was a fortress, haunted by the warmth he pushed away, scarred by the silence he forced between them, all because he believed she deserved more than the broken pieces he could offer. And, her heart was a battlefield, bruised by all the words he never said and all the love he refused to show. But no walls are unbreakable, and no heart can stay silent forever. Sooner or later, her war would reach his gates, and maybe, just maybe, he'd let her in. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Set in early 20th-century Delhi, it is the tale of Arnav and Khushi, two childhood companions bound by shared trauma and unspoken affection. As they navigated the complexities of societal expectations and pursued personal ambitions, their profound friendship quietly transformed into a love they dared not acknowledge. Amidst the fear of losing each other forever, they must confronted their feelings and weighed the risks of pursuing a future together, where happiness hung delicately in the balance. It is my first attempt at writing fiction. I might be wrong about certain aspects of that age and era, but it's a fantasy, so why not? Arranged marriage was an age-old story that Khushi, the youngest of the infamous Gupta family, who revolutionized and dominated the trading market for generations, knew well. For it was the only thing she heard growing up. But that neither prepared her nor comforted her as she got ready that morning. It was an important day, a day where she would trade her surname for a new one, her silence for a new chance, her respect for a new hope, her life for another. It was a day of contracts, both new and old. As she hid behind the traditional red shawl, knowing that the whole world would be watching her, waiting to pounce, she wondered why her mother never told her about any of the good marriages. The ones that worked out. The ones that had hope. The ones that had love. Probably because they don't exist, Khushi thought to herself. Only, destiny had believed otherwise. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a stand alone story that has no connection with the original show, Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon, except for the names of the lead characters.
