Dragons used to hunt the skies. Now they're the hunted. In the kingdom of Blackthorne, every dragon wears a collar around their neck, a visual symbol of their oppression. Their magic and their dragon form have been taken from them, yet though they look like humans, they live like second-class citizens. Worse, the king has started ordering their arrest, and nobody knows what happens to the dragons after the king's men take them. When her father is arrested, Wynne Pendragon decides to take action. She's going to bring her father home no matter what the cost--even if that means resorting to violence.

The name's Chaos. Chaos Killbourne to be exact. People call me reckless, but they're wrong. I'm more like the perfect storm. Destroy an entire city with a single glance? I can do that. Wipe mankind off the face of the earth once and for all? I can do that too. Born to lead a revolt of epic proportions so the Dark Ones can rise up and rule the world is my destiny. Refusing to follow direct orders and become a weapon of mass destruction is my downfall. Cursed by fate, I'm currently on a collision course to form the perfect union in order to balance my explosive supernatural powers before I self-destruct, and take the planet with me. There's just one tiny problem. Once formed the union can never be broken. With a bad attitude and an even worse temper I can't be tamed. Not that I have time to worry about my love life, of course. I'm just trying to make it through high school in one piece. All I know for sure is that the future of mankind rests in my hands, which really pisses me off. I never asked to save the world. After all, I was born to destroy it. Copyright © 2014 ~ Somerlea All rights reserved. (BOOK ONE of The Hidden Blood Series) “The bloody, raw meat was tantalizing her; calling to her. She hated it and yearned for it all at once. 'Stop.' She ordered. 'What are you doing?!' 'So hungryyyyy,' snarled a primal voice deep within her. 'Don’t you dare!' She screamed back. But it did dare.” What would you do if you discovered you weren't human? That you turned into a bloodthirsty monster against your will? What if your instincts, emotions and desires were torn between your own and the dark, dangerous animal lurking inside of you? If it could make you yearn for someone you shouldn't, make you say and act in ways you wouldn't and overwhelm your whole existence? If everything you'd ever known about your life was a lie? In a world where a deeply hidden community is swathed in mystery, deadly secrets, betrayal and murder, Jaz Barker struggles to fight against the dangerous Beast within her and the emotions and desires it thrusts her way. When tensions ride high and people she cares about are put in danger, she will have to decide how much of her newly awakened animal side she's willing to let in. And if it is worth the risk. *******

17-year old Eliza sucked her evil Aunt Celeste into a Monet painting and just survived negotiations with her aunt's demonic boss, Asher. She also managed to save her new-semi-cursed boyfriend's soul from eternal damnation (at least for the next 30 days), but can she and Dante, her dark and mysterious co-worker, do the same for a nasty piece of work ruled by Wrath? Eliza's new deal entails having to convince Andy Andersen to let go of her hatred for Caroline Hayes, the girl who single-handedly ruined her perfect life. Can she accomplish the impossible while also fighting her own deadly sin in just one month? Eliza better get it together quick, because if she doesn't figure out a way to get Andy to commit a virtuous act for Caroline, then it's not just her soul on the line. A whole lot of people are coming along for the ride, and this particular ride's final destination only dumps out into one place: Hell. Seventeen year-old Eliza Taylor's latest run-in with New York City Police lands her on a bus with a one way ticket to the small town of Blackwater. Unimpressed with being an indentured servant for her cranky and ridiculously ancient aunt, Eliza soon finds hope when she meets Dante, another of her aunt's employees, as well as Chase, the cute boy-next-door who works at his dad's hardware store. Unfortunately, Eliza's panache for getting into trouble rears its ugly head when she discovers her aunt's shop sells more than just postcards from 1988. Her aunt's "private showroom" houses each of the seven deadly sins: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Avarice, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. But stopping her evil aunt from damning the souls of unsuspecting teens has a price - and that price might very well be Eliza's eternal soul. Can Eliza survive her evil aunt, outwit the dark master she serves, and keep a few souls out of Hell, including her own? She's not so sure, but seeing as how she likes her soul in the upright and firmly out-of-hell position, she's gonna give it her best shot. Hopefully her best won't end up killing her and ruining her afterlife - God knows her normal life is hard enough! **Copyrighted Material: Bad Company Copyright © Wendy Nelson 2012 All Rights Reserved. Detective Jackson Wolfe thought he had stepped into the pages of a comic book. The first indication was the unlikely partner he'd been paired with. Macy Grey was a seemingly naive, annoying-yet-beautiful blonde Betty Boop. He was further astounded when he learned the nature of their department. He had been assigned to the highly confidential and brand new V.S.I.D... or The Vigilante and Super-human Investigations Department. Wait... what? Did old Chief Munson have a sense of humor after all? Were they pranking the "new kid on the block"? Jackson didn't buy it. "Go forth! Track down and arrest thee Spiderman... and his cohorts!". Well, it was no prank. What's more, it didn't prove to be an easy task. The alleged "super-powered" vigilantes were apparently much better equipped and far better trained than the police or F.B.I's most valued and effective members. This just fueled the desire to put a stop to them. After all, no one should be allowed to apprehend criminals without doing mountains of paperwork!
