Persephone is a young goddess, trying to make her own way in life. Thing is, her mother won't let her. She is convinced that some god will seduce her and leave her as a husk, or take her away from her forever. Persephone wants her freedom, and to find love. Hades is a quiet man who enjoys the small things in life. When he first glimpses Persephone, his mind is overrun. They soon meet and become fast friends. Will they be able to find happiness?

Angry Gods separated them, but only for six months a year. Not a long wait for an immortal, but for a King driven insane by love, the longing felt lingering. So they wrote poems. Each passing month they would kiss a paper sheet. ~ a retelling of Persephone's and Hades' myth

Even though she loved him, she did not think she could stomach it. "I do not want you to be my mistress, Persephone, I want you to be my queen," he confessed to her. She snapped her head up to meet his eyes, searching for any sign he wanted to take his words back, but there was no remorse. And just like that, she fell ever so slightly more in love with him. "Your queen?" she asked, she had to be sure. Strangely the word had slid off her tongue gracefully as if it had belonged there. "Yes, become my queen," he told her once again, taking back the step she had taken. "Rule besides me as the goddess of spring and the Underworld."
