a short(ish) story

Have you ever been so close to someone that you were practically inseperable? April has. April and Jewel have been that way since they could remember. From their first words as toddlers to their eighth grade graduation, and all throughout their few years of high school, these girls did everything together. April was never known as just "April." Jewel was never known as just "Jewel." But when the tragic, unexpected event of Jewel's death takes place, April is left alone. ...Or so it seems. But just when she is about to break apart into a million peices, April senses Jewel's presence within the ocean. Craving any type of remaining connection to her best friend, April spends every free second at the ocean in Blue Hill, Maine, right by her family's beach house; right where Jewel passed away.
