Brasswick doesn't mourn its dead. It strips them.
When mutilated bodies start turning up in freight yards and dockside alleys, Detective Jonah Cray is pulled into the city's darkest hunting ground. Victims have their eyes and tongues removed, flesh eaten away by acid - the unmistakable calling card of the Scavenger Court, a gang that feeds on fear as much as it does flesh.
But this is no turf war. Someone is bankrolling the Court, paying for their tools, their chemicals, their silence. Following the trail drags Cray through the rusting skeleton of Brasswick - from blood-slick cage fights in Ashmarket to the chemical stench of Cutter's Wharf - and every lead comes with another corpse.
In a city where the wrong name can buy your grave, Cray has one chance to stop the feeding before the list of the dead gets longer. But the Scavenger Court isn't hiding.
They're circling.
