𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 has no patience for reckless students. Those who think they can skate through life on a last name alone. Vivienne Winters-Crawford has always had everything. The penthouse childhood, the private schools, the kind of money that fixes problems before they even start. But now, fresh out of college with an art degree in one hand and independence in the other, she wants to experience being on her own. So she moves out. No staff, no safety net, just a cramped two-bedroom apartment and a roommate she's never expected. Aveline Parker is a ghost of a girl who prefers silence to survival. Grey eyes, jet black hair, and a presence that slips through rooms without a sound. No one knows what she's been through, except Estelle, the woman who gave her a job, a room, and a reason to stay. Aveline doesn't talk much. She doesn't trust. She just survives. When Vivienne answers an ad for a roommate, she never expects the other room to belong to a girl who barely speaks. But there's something magnetic about Aveline. Something quiet and aching. And despite the silence, despite the walls, things start to unravel. One moment at a time. One scar at a time. This isn't a love story born out of ease. It's a love story built in the healing. In the light that comes after the dark.

She walks quietly over to the bathroom door, her steps almost silent on the soft carpet beneath her feet. She stops just a few feet away, the bathroom door in front of her, the water running steadily inside. She debates with herself for a moment, hesitating. Is it too intrusive to fucking peek? Would Selene even care? The thoughts swirl, but Ayla's curiosity gets the best of her. She leans closer to the door, her heart beating faster as she edges just a little closer, trying to catch a glimpse of what's happening inside. But before she can get too close, a voice, soft yet commanding, calls out from the bathroom. "You've got a lot of damn questions, don't you?" Ayla freezes, her breath caught in her throat, heart skipping a beat. Selene's voice is smooth, unaffected, as though she knew exactly what Ayla was thinking. Ayla straightens, a flush creeping up her neck, realizing she's been caught. "I-uh-I wasn't..." She stumbles for words, feeling embarrassed but also strangely intrigued. "I didn't mean to-" Selene interrupts her, though there's no judgment in her tone, just that same quiet confidence. "It's fine. Curiosity is natural." The sound of water splashing softly echoes through the door, followed by the soft clink of glass-likely the sound of Selene setting something down. Ayla hesitates for a moment before speaking, her voice quieter now. "Are you... are you okay in there?" Selene's chuckle reaches Ayla, low and almost amused. "I'm perfectly fine, little fox, You should be more concerned with your own safety than my bath." To be continued.......
