this story is based on a Manta series called 'Under the Oak tree' and is entirely inspired by that, there may be different takes as I will switch some things up, the ship is entirely Crossmare, side ships may be included. Nightmare, a Lord with his own campaign and land, was sealed into a marriage with Cross. found himself entangled in the war his father-in-law X was supposed to fight in, taking the older man's place. He left his spouse for a war that lasted 7 years. Cross. a poor monster abused by his Father, X, who clearly uses him for his own gain regardless of his son's feelings, he does not care for Cross. and soon Cross found himself alone again the day after his wedding as Nightmare had departed for war. leaving him at the mercy of his Father once again.

Once upon a time, there lived a small, young, fragile skeleton. He wore a red cloak coloured like the crimson of blood, and with a heart like stone. His town was very poor and the people did not treat others well. Late at midnight, his magic began to dissipate into nothing. Scared and afraid, he passed out on the visit to the doctors and woke up to see his fragile body melted and distorted. He survived with only part of his soul and what little magic he had left to just barely hold his physical form. With sadness and guilt, he left the town to a local forest, never be seen again. »»-----　☠　-----«« Deep in a hidden forest, where only the strong ones, feared ones, and adventurous ones will find themselves, lived a lonely soul, trapped within the forest with an eternal curse. His touch drains the living faster than sight could see, leaving the soul with sadness and fear. He long searches for the missing part in his life as he never felt the true life as his youth was stolen away. Not even Life could help him. Old and dismal, he waited until time stopped ticking, when something interesting finally came into the forest. After Chara started snooping, and Night had to use a bracelet to erase the memories of what Chara told Cross, the monochrome skeleton starts finding more and more secrets about his new boss, will he ever grow close enough that Nightmare will spill the secrets to him?

Geno owned a big ranch which he had inherited from his long gone brother. He'd frequently have dreams of himself with a potion, but would wake up in cold sweat every time whenever he walked away with it. He does not recognize what the potion is about. What he *does* know, is that he should not talk about it and keep quiet. For magic had been banned in the town he lived in ever since he could remember. A few days before a contest, a new guy came. Both he and Geno didn't have a very good start. However, once they got acquainted a little, the guy made a bet with Geno. Whoever wins the contest, will keep Geno's lands and possesions, the other will be forced to leave the town, forever. Will the stranger win the bet? Can Geno figure out what his dream is trying to say? Or will everything end in chaos as the competition ends? Author's Note: Hello! this is my first book, it is a AfterDeath story/AU. There will be other Undertale AU characters in the story too! The first few chapters are pretty cringey because I wrote them when I was much younger, but the following chapters get better and have a much more decent grammar. A crack opens in a breaking universe and Death peeks through to the other side. It seems like this "code" thing hasn't been doing it's job, and there's someone who's long in need of reaping. Death tries to relieve Geno of his suffering though, well, himself, but when that fails, there's no choice but to relieve his suffering some other way, right? Perhaps they could help each other.
