A day before the first day of his job, Larry is shocked to see his younger sister's son and his nephew, Angelo 'Angel' Daley-Richards standing outside of his house. Angel Richards is a seventeen-year-old teenager and the only son of Samantha Richards nee Daley and Andrew Richards. Samantha was taken away from Angel when he was nine-years-old. Samantha passed away when a drunk driver crash against her car. Angel's relationship with his father became strained when he came out of the closet and told him that he is gay. Andrew kicked Angel out of the house and practically disowned him which caused Angel to leave California and move to New York where his mother's older brother lives. Larry got angry when he found out that his former brother-in-law kicked his nephew out of the house and disowned him for being gay. He told Angel that he could stay with him. Angel is happy that Larry doesn't mind his sexuality because they are family. He said to Larry that he would help him pay the rent, but he needs to get a job first. That is when Larry remembers that the Museum is in need of more security guards. He informs his nephew that he will help him get a job which makes Angel happy.
