cor·ner·stone /ˈkôrnərˌstōn/ noun an important quality or feature on which a particular thing depends or is based. Wendy has loved her husband Atlas since she was twelve years old.. He was her first kiss, her first love, her forever. Together, they built a perfect life - married after high school, raised two beautiful boys together, and were still blissfully in love. Until Atlas pulled away. Wendy did everything she could to keep their marriage from unraveling-juggling the house, the kids, and all the invisible labor no one thanks her for. But when Atlas fails to show up to their final resort therapy session, Wendy makes a different choice - she stops waiting for him. Determined to take her life back, Wendy gets a job, rediscovering her independence and finding unexpected freedom in a world where she no longer carries the weight for both of them. While she flourishes, Atlas unravels. He watches everything that matters slip through his fingers-his wife, his sons, the family he thought he was protecting by keeping his fear to himself. But to heal their fractured marriage, Atlas will have to face the real reason he pulled away... And what does it have to do with his brother's late wife, Carrie? A marriage-in-trouble second chance romance. No cheating, HEA always.

She married the man of her dreams-then his first love came back. Now Amara has to decide: stay and fight for a man who never chose her, or finally choose herself... and the boy from her past who always did. __________________________ On paper, Amara Lane has everything she ever prayed for: a handsome husband, a ring on her finger, and the powerful Lane family name. In reality? She's just the woman who came after. Her husband, Jace Lane, never stopped loving his first love-the flawless, untouchable Sienna Hart. When Sienna blows back into town as Jace's new business partner, his parents treat her like the real daughter-in-law while Amara is left swallowing backhanded comments and smiling through every cold family dinner. So Amara straightens her spine, fixes her lipstick, and tells herself she can compete. She'll be prettier, nicer, more perfect-anything to keep her marriage from slipping through her fingers. Then she runs into Eli Rivera-her almost, her what-if, the boy who chose distance over breaking her heart. Now he's back, successful, completely unimpressed by the Lane family's power games, and furious when he sees how Amara is being treated. As Jace flaunts Sienna like a trophy and his family pushes Amara to the edges of every room, Eli pulls her back to herself-reminding her of the girl who once knew she deserved more than being second best. When the truth about Jace and Sienna finally explodes, Amara has to choose: Keep bleeding for a man who never picked her first... or walk away and choose herself-even if it means choosing the man from her past who never stopped seeing her. Packed with family drama, emotional betrayal, and a slow-burning second-chance romance, Loving a Man Who Still Loves Her will drag you by the heart from chapter one and refuse to let go.

One lesson I learned very early in life was to be cheerful, to be agreeable, to do as I was told and ask for nothing, and to never ever complain. Smile Maddie. Be happy Maddie. Don't make trouble and maybe they'll love you. I grew into an adult who took care of others and never expected that those I loved would take care of me in return. I gave and never asked, never expected, never demanded. Smile Maddie. Be happy Maddie. Don't make trouble and you'll find someone that will love you. And then one day, a Dragon walked into my workplace and turned my world upside down with a single wink. Having grown up watching his father treat his men like they were disposable, just meat bags to be fed into the grinder, Dragon was determined to be different when he became president of the Dragon's Inferno MC. He cares about his people. He takes care of them. He was upfront with me, taking care of his MC and those he considered to be his would always be his priority. And I agreed to that, I joined him in that mission, throwing myself into becoming the perfect old lady of the prez. Smile Maddie. Act happy Maddie. Take care of them and maybe they'll love you. Smile Maddie. Be happy Maddie. Don't complain and maybe he'll love you. I told myself I was independent. I was strong. And I didn't need my Dragon to take care of me. And I almost believed it. Almost. But now I'm watching him with her. I'm watching him comfort her. I'm watching him listen to her, support her, reassure her. I'm watching him take time from his day to check in with her. I'm watching him worry about her. I'm watching them become closer right in front of my eyes. I'm seeing every thoughtful gesture he does for her. And me? I'm not happy. I'm not smiling. I'm done being agreeable. Fuck not causing trouble. I'm about to set my Dragon's world on fire. And then I'm walking away. She can have him. For the first time in my life, I'm choosing myself.

My family loves cake smashes. I don't. My fiance thinks they're funny. I told him no. He did it anyway. This story was written ad hoc based on comments and feedback with minimal editing before getting published. It is now completed with a HEA between new couples. No cheating, but lots of red flags. Smashing your new wife's face into the wedding cake is kinda a deal breaker

Alessia had rules. She didn't do drama, didn't take nonsense from any man. Until him. For Cassian, she broke every one. A cliché, impossible mother in law? She handled it. Missed dinners because of work? She served herself double and waited anyway. Too tired to spend time together? She embraced the quiet hours alone. She forgot her limits, abandoned her rules. All for him. Until her. The one rule she couldn't break, the limit she couldn't cross. She saw him with her. Broken, she left and whispered a wish she never thought would come true: that she had never met him. The wish was granted. Alessia woke up and didn't remember him. But now Cassian is the one waiting. Running against time to be near her. Chasing every moment, following every rule, just so she might remember him again. And if she can't... Can he remember it all for both of them? © IcecreamSundae5.
