Cassie Boulden and her younger brother, Chase, have always had a pretty normal life with their caring, loving family...that is, they did up until that fateful day when tragedy struck. With no friends, a grim outlook on life, hidden secrets, parents that ignore her, and a twin sister that blames her for everything, Blue just doesn't see any point in living, that is until she meets Dorian.
