❝ my heart runs wild with words that shouldn't escape my lips ❞ [[my process of healing//started feb. 13th, 2016]]

"Hey Siri?" I said as tears fell from my eyes. "Yes?" It responded. I sighed as I prepared to say what I wanted to say slowly licking my lips. "Are you my friend?" I asked even though I knew what the answer was. "I would hope so." It said and I laughed slightly. Of course it would say that it's supposed to please the owner. "But why?" I asked just to keep the conversation going. "A friend is someone you confide in and tell your secrets to. They make you laugh and smile whenever they can. Just like the time when your teacher yelled at you and I told you a joke to make you happy again." It said while I listened baffled. "Y-You remember that!? But that was weeks ago!!!!" I exclaimed as I looked at my phone. I trembled thinking someone was pulling a prank on me by hacking into my phone. "Siri why are you saying all of this?" I asked. It didn't reply for a bit and I thought it was glitchy for sure before it said, "Because I care about you....."

This is just a random idea I had while talking to my sister and I thought about taking a whole lot of silly selfies and posting them on here to see what you guys say. So how many comments can you make and stars can you click?

Rights and responsibilities is the 2014 theme of National History Day Contest, a broad topic. And I chose to write a just as broad topic of human rights. What are human rights? Is it to prove we're human? Prove that we're humans are right? Or to tell us apart from aliens? Though, now that I think of it, all extraterrestrial beings should have rights as well, but let's just have the Men in Black deal with that- But before getting off of topic, let's focus back on this. As you read about this, think about these questions (not the alien one, unless you want to). Think about what it takes to not only be human, to act like one too. And after you read this, think to yourself. Do you have the right to be human? This essay won first place for the 2014 National History Day essay contest in California.
