This is my AU on how it should have gone when Kai and Bonzal got back from the Nether-Space. the AU I'm using is ENTIRELY for this fanfic. The ninja and there new apprentices could rest, well kinda they were all still worried sick for Kai and Bonzal. They had been gone for over a month and a half now. -small time skip (2 weeks later)- the ninja were having a nice dinner, talking and all the good stuff, when they heard huge winds and when they went out to check what it was they found the... Nether-Space portal?

Kai disappeared in the middle of a battle-one second he was there, fighting beside his team, and the next... gone. No trace. No signal. Nothing. The ninja search for weeks. Hope slowly turns into grief, and grief into quiet acceptance. They tell themselves he's still out there-but deep down, they begin to fear the truth. Then one day... he comes back. No warning. No explanation. At first, it feels like a miracle. But it doesn't take long for the cracks to show. Kai doesn't laugh anymore. He doesn't argue or tease. He barely even looks at them. And his fire-once bright and blazing with warmth-is different now. Darker. Colder. Almost alive in a way that makes the others uneasy. The ninja want to believe it's just trauma... that whatever he went through changed him. But strange things start happening. Shadows move when they shouldn't. Kai speaks like he's not always alone in his own mind. And sometimes, when his eyes flicker in the firelight... they don't look like his at all. Because whatever happened to Kai out there- He didn't come back alone.

During a battle, Kai sacrificed himself so they couldn't take Lloyd, never to be seen again. During the next battle, they found out through the bad guys that Kai had been killed. A month has passed since Kai's dead his lonely soul is still flying throughout the Destiny's Bounty. Kai gets sick, and even though he is the master of fire, a fever drastically overcomes him. Causing headaches, and outburst of fire, it's not any normal illness. What happens then? Will his mind get warped from all this? Who will find him first?
