Cardan inquires with a glint in his eye and I can only wonder what it is he is thinking now. "I know just what you need." Cardan says just before moving towards me so that he was kneeling on the ground. Half on the loveseat next to me and half on the floor. One hand of his moving up and down my leg and drawing circles occasionally. His proximity brought a warmth I didn't realized I had longed for. "Oh and what is that, your highness?" I knew Cardan was baiting me and I took it. I was too tired to play games. In response his hand slid farther up my leg till it reached the hem of my dress pushing it gently very high up my thigh. I took a deep breath, Cardan's eye contact was always much too intense already and with his slow and deliberate movements I felt my own heart beginning to speed up. His eyes questioned me for confirmation I was only too happy to give him. With that his hand slipped fully under my dress.

This is one of my Folk of the Air series "What if's?". I have a lot of these for many different series. This one is about when Madoc stabbed Jude while she was escaping from his camp in Queen of Nothing. I have had this "what if" for a while. What if the Roach didn't get shot with that dart and Cardan sent him back to the palace while Cardan caught up with Jude? What if Cardan saw Jude get stabbed? I have always imagined this as a bit dramatic when I was thinking and acting parts of stories in my room (I know i'm a teen and I roleplay in my room. I admitted it. are you proud of me?!) so sorry if the personalities don't match up exactly. All of this belongs to the wonderful Holly Black! Enjoy!

This is a Jurdan based short story focusing on them beginning their journey as High King and Queen of Elfhame. There will be spoilers from all three of the books. Holly Black (the author of this series) owns these characters , I just wanted to continue their journey for a little longer.

"Why won't you run from a fight?" ... "My mother ran. Set during TWK, after Queen of Mirth. Cardan goes to find Jude in her room and won't leave her alone until he finds out why she played along. Literally me just needing Jurdan fluff in my life. I just finished TWK and I was not emotionally prepared for that ending so here's some fluff to keep you and me alive. (Also the amount of tags that I put on this is hilarious in my opinion)
