another aesthetic book! broken into two parts: character and story. *not a request book*

Best friends Grace and Tyler expected this summer to be like every other one- tanning on the beach and discovering new favorite restaurants- but that all changes when they fake a relationship. How long can they last under the hot California Sun before they burn? 18-year-olds Grace O'Sullivan and Tyler Lopez became best friends long before they could walk and have gone through life's ups and downs together- from Tyler's band, morninglight, getting signed to a record label to the death of Grace's dad. These two want nothing more than to spend the summer together exploring L.A. and following their dreams, especially after spending the last two years apart. Grace's summer looks bright from the start as she moves in with Bianca Nelson, the girlfriend of Tyler's bandmate Erica, and prepares for her intensive at Western American Ballet, who she hopes will ask her to join their ranks after the six weeks. She plans to get as much fun and relaxation as she can in the weeks leading up to the days of continuous training and dancing. The one thing she didn't plan for was to get thrown into the internet spotlight. Tyler knew his summer would be busy from sunrise to sunset as he and bandmates Maia and Erica were creating their second studio album. Whenever he and Grace weren't in their respective studios, Tyler wanted to be by her side, either roaming the city or relaxing at one of their places. In addition, he wanted time to adjust to his antidepressants before the album dropped, but things never seemed to go how he wanted. When morninglight's label learns about fans discussing Tyler's spring disappearance and where he went, everyone's summer plans dry up as they scramble to find a way to keep fans from discovering the truth. They need a story big enough to distract the fans without a chance of it blowing up in their faces or getting close to where Tyler went. What's a better story than Tyler finally dating his best friend after years of pining and shipping?
