After becoming a genin Hiruzen tells Naruto of his heritage as an Uzumaki and gives Naruto access to the scrolls of his clan plus the letter his mother left him. Turns out the Uzumaki Clan had a lot of secrets that makes Naruto wonder just how they were wiped out in the first place.

What if Minato and Kushina weren't killed on the night of the Kyubi's attack? How would Naruto's life (and the rest of the villagers' lives) differ? And what if Obito was brought back to the village instead of him being left to die? Would there be peace in the ninja world or would there be a new threat to their existence?

Despite not being able to be with him physically, Minato continues to watch over his son, Naruto. He watches him grow from the afterlife, the regret of not being able to raise his son right weighing him down. When his grief is at its worst, he wishes only to be reunited with his son; he gets his wish. And much more.

During the sand/sound invasion, Orochimaru never summoned the first and second hokage, but instead brought Minato and Kushina back. When they see Naruto about to be attacked by a sound ninja, they break out of their deaths and return back to the land of living.
