One year after escaping the nightmare that nearly destroyed her, Natalie built a new life from the ashes. A career. Independence. Distance from the dangerous world that once hunted her. Then Vittorio Moretti found her. Powerful, polished, and terrifyingly patient, Vittorio never forgot the woman he decided belonged to him. When Natalie is taken to his private estate after a failed escape leaves blood in its wake, she learns the truth of his obsession: He does not want revenge. He wants a wife. Inside a mansion built like a palace and guarded like a fortress, Natalie is given freedom with invisible walls. Luxury becomes confinement. Kindness becomes control. Every dress is chosen, every movement observed, every decision made for her. And with a wedding fast approaching, Vittorio intends to turn captivity into something permanent. But Natalie has survived him once before. This time, survival may require something even more dangerous than running- playing along. * Claimed Under His Thumb is the dark romance sequel to Under The Devil's Thumb. While it can be read alone, the full story begins in Book One.

"P-p-please.." My voice was a jagged, stuttering mess. I frantically clawed at the basement floor, trying to scramble backward, but my limbs were shaking too violently to find traction. Tears cut through the dirt on my face as I stared up at his towering silhouette. "I-I-I'm sorry... I-I p-promise, ! D-don't do this, p-p-please!" Adrien stood completely unhurried, his sapphire eyes dead and hollow. His violence wasn't a fit of rage; it was a cold, calculated execution. He stepped forward, pinning my left leg flat against the concrete with his crushing weight, and brought a solid iron rod down directly onto my kneecap. Crack. An explosive, white-hot agony shattered my mind. I let out a blood-curdling shriek that bounced violently off the walls, my entire body convulsing. "A-A-Adrien! S-st-stop! I-I'm b-begging you!" I screamed, sobbing so hard I choked. Without a word, he lifted the rod again and shattered my right kneecap. I collapsed onto the freezing floor, my teeth clicking violently from the absolute shock. Before I could pass out, Adrien knelt over my trembling form. He shattered a thick sheet of glass against the table, holding a razor-sharp shard in his gloved hand. "You forgot whose name you carry, my dear," he whispered softly. "Let's make sure you remember." He pressed the jagged glass deep into the bare skin of my shoulder blade. I shrieked, my body locking into a rigid line as he began to deliberately engrave his name into my flesh. TRIGGER WARNING‼️‼️ This book is not ordinary dark romance novel . He thought I was calling and texting because I couldn't take no for an answer. That wasn't my problem at all. Two blue lines were.

"I'm not a man of many words... солнышко," he said softly, the Russian endearment curling off his tongue like smoke-sweet, but choking. "Come closer." She hesitated, her body trembling, tears spilling soundlessly down her cheeks. He watched her, the way fear made her small, fragile-beautiful in a broken way. She rose, slow as a confession, and walked to him because something in his smile promised shelter and tasted like a lie. He leaned in, close enough to feel his breath, and I saw the patient cruelty behind his eyes. "Now," he murmured, his voice turning colder, heavier, "tell me... what did you do to make me want to cut your leg?" The room went still, except for her quiet gasps. He tilted his head, studying her face as if searching for the moment she would break. ............................................................... Linda finally gets her big break - a visa sponsorship job at the Lincoln Foundation. She's placed with the Adams family, a kind couple who welcome her with open arms and treat her like the daughter they never had.
