The life of nineteen-year-old Katie rarely goes the way she wants. Just when she believes things can’t get much worse, a baby immortal claiming to be her son and death’s personal assistant appear on her doorstep. Everyone around her begins to insist she’s someone she’s not, while demons, deities and immortals threaten to tear her life – and sanity – apart. Scared but brave, she confronts this new world head on, where she meets Immortals like Gabriel, a death dealer, and Rhyn, an outcast half-demon who claims her as his mate in a show of defiance to his Immortal half-brothers. Determined to spite the siblings that sentenced him to Hell, Rhyn rescues Katie from the demons and discovers what everyone is after: his little human has a gift that will safeguard – or annihilate – the immortal and mortal worlds. His defiance melts into possessive protectiveness of the fiery yet vulnerable Katie as he realizes the sorry truth: he’s the only ally she’s got, and he won’t leave her high and dry the way his brothers did him.

"At first I hadn't been able to put my finger on what frightened me about him. He towered over me, which was frightening enough, but it was something more. Something about how the air charged around him. Django looked at me then with eyes like an animal, peering from a forest at night." Two years ago, Bonnie Lee Harper and her family were sent into witness protection after her abusive father murdered their next door neighbor. Moved far from their Beverly Hills home, Bonnie and her family have relocated to wintry Wildgate, Utah. Life seems to be going smoothly, until things are thrown into ultimate chaos when she meets the man who seems to be at the heart of the town's flurrying whispers. A man who ignites a deep, frightening passion within her. A man who wants her to give him something she possibly couldn't. Her soul, and even worse? Her heart.

A beat of a second passed before he slowly pulled away from me, the suffocating heat withdrawing with him as he straightened up. My eyes lifted to meet his as he released his hold on my knife, and I flicked my wrist, flipping it with ease so my hands closed around its smooth, still-warm handle. The room was silent. The ten other men seated on the couch didn't bother trying to hide the shock on their faces that a hunter had just agreed to a deal with their Alpha. I totally felt the same way, even if I was that dumb motherfucker. They seemed to be imagining what horrible, unthinkable threats he could have whispered into my ear to make me cave, but to think my resolve had dissolved with just four unexpected words from his mouth. Sometimes, I wondered if I even had a brain. "So," I said now, holding back a sigh as I looked up into those steely, unreadable eyes, "If I'm going to work with you, I'll need a name to call you by. Unless you prefer to be referred to as moody dick?" Silence followed my words. "What, don't you guys know Moby Dick?" I asked no one in particular, and ten pairs of eyes exchanged glances that further questioned my sanity. The last pair of eyes held mine steady. The ring of gold in them seemed to burn like a flickering candlelight against the night of the sea. "Heath," he said, and I could finally place his accent as the name curled and settled in my ears like a cat by the fireplace. I smiled. "Well, cool." I put my hand out between us, the one holding the knife, the silver-pointed tip facing him as I offered him a handshake. "Nice to meet you moody dick, I'm Alessandra."

"You are MINE." He growls out, trapping me against the cool counter, the spoon immediately falling out of my hands- creating a crash on the floor. His big hard body covers mine like a sweater, His thick blonde hair running against my chin as he dips his head down to my chest. "Who do you belong to?" He whispers in a deathly taunt. Shivers cover my body as I squeeze my brown eyes tight and with all my might, push him off me. He stumbles back a little bit looking up with dark eyes full of lust and anger. "Not you." I reply. My eyes narrowed at his hazel ones, trying to ignore the heat that went off me as he left. "I guess I'm going to have to teach you a little lesson then." His voice coming out deeper then ever. Fear leaks into me as I notice the sly smirk that forms on his face. "This will be fun." He blurts out, before he lunges for me. ~*~ Christmas is for fun and laughter, opening presents, giving, and spending time with your family. Who would of thought I would be spending MY Christmas, the most important day of the year, being kidnapped by a sexy hunk in Santa boxers. Definitely not me.

"NO!" I pull at his hand, trying to restrain it from hitting the glass. He can't break it! "Please, don't!" I cry out, only to be thrown across the room, my body colliding with the wall. My only way home, my only chance to see the world I love and know. And just like that, his fist collides with the mirror, the glass shattering to the ground as I scream. Tears begin to fall as I scream at him, watching as he approaches me like a predator, his hands bloody, his eyes turning black. I'm trapped here, forever. And he couldn't be more happy.

Highest Ranking: #4 My eyes were wide as I slowly got to my feet, turning to yank the dagger that was embedded down to the hilt in the wall, where my head was moments ago. "What the fuck was that for?" I said in shock, completely flabbergasted as I stared at him with a bewildered look on my face. Judging by the shocked expressions on Elliot and Dylan's faces, it looked like they hadn't expected their Alpha to throw a fucking dagger at my head either. Heath flashed his teeth at me in a smile that was more predatory than pleasant. "Just making sure your arm isn't going to be a hindrance to our rescue mission." My jaw dropped. By throwing a fucking dagger at my head? Enraged, I let the burst of anger spur my next actions, and before anyone could so much as twitch, I was across the room, toe-to-toe with Heath, one hand fisting his shirt and pressing him against the edge of the desk and the other holding the blade of the dagger at his neck. I applied the slightest pressure on the blade, shallow enough it wasn't lethal, at least not for a werewolf, and deep enough so blood welled up at the thin cut. "Just making sure this isn't silver," I said mockingly, and I didn't hide my smirk when the wound didn't heal over. "Oh wait," I widened my eyes, feigning shock, "this is silver." I flashed him a wicked grin, completely unrepentant, and his eyes were a thunderous black as he looked down at me. "Oops," I smirked. "My bad."
