What if James was in love with Regulus as well as Lily? After Sirius left for Hogwart he left his younger brother, Regulus Black behind to deal with their parent alone. Now, Sirius has made new friends and left his family in the past. Regulus knew things were different the moment Sirius didn't come home for the holidays in his first year. Now, Regulus is at Hogwarts, although his and his Gryffindor brother's relationship is completely different. Eventually, Regulus starts getting dragged along to the Marauderers hangouts and develops feelings for his brother's best friend. James feels like he's drowning without him and only one person can save him. Regulus is longing to be back in his arms but he knows he can't do that now.

On that fateful night in October 1981 Regulus Black saves James Potter, but wasn't fast enough to save Lily too. After James gets over the shock of seeing his assumed dead ex-boyfriend he buried Lily, then with the promise that Regulus will explain everything later, they grab Harry and run to a Black family home in France. It's there that they live and raise Harry in secret under the fidelius charm where Regulus himself is the secret keeper. The entire world thinks that they are dead, the only people who know the truth are none other than the Malfoys. When it's time for Harry to go to Hogwarts the wizarding world is shocked to see the boy alive, but even more so when The Boy Who Lived is sorted into Slytherin.

Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy go back in time to the Marauders era to try to save the wizarding world from the war. Along the way they realize why they both really volunteered to do this and become close. Since they have to change some events most things don't go the way they're meant to.
