After his suicide attempt because of bullies at his old school his mother decides to move, thinking this will end newt's depression. Thomas is the bad boy at WCKD high school and people avoid him except for Gally, the schools bully, and his girlfriend Teresa. he has the reputation to be dangerous. Thomas finds himself in a strange box in an unknown place. He is greeted by unfamiliar faces, in which he soon would have to call his friends. Thomas is bewildered of his new surroundings, but mostly of one reclusive individual. "Hey who's that?" I ask and point to the blonde who stares at the ground, grasping a flower. Thomas enters the glade with no knowledge of anything to do with his past. He meets a boy called Newt, the only glader he grows to like, and he realises that Newt is all he has in this strange new world. But what if this boy, Newt, has a darker past then Thomas thought? How would he know, when he doesn't even know his own past? What will the past cause for them? Will they escape the maze, escape the hell? Will they want to? And will they find something they weren't looking for? Will they find love?

Thomas was always popular and he had a perfect life and everything he wanted, until the new guy shows up and suddenly his whole world was flipped upside down and now he doesnt know what to do or feel anymore.

newt also known as cry baby. newt was practically living in a doll house, outside everything seemed perfectly fine, but inside everything was falling apart. his mother being a drunk slut, his father the cheater son of a bitch and lizzy, the innocent sister who couldn't do anything about it. that was his life for sixteen years, but then thomas appeared in his life and everything changed. he couldn't tell if it was happiness or something else.
