What if Kenric survived the Everblaze? After Kenric burns away in the Everblaze, Oralie's life dissolves into sobs, sorrow, and despair. That is where Book Three ends - with love lost to fire. No. No it couldn't be, she thought. Exhilarated, baffled, and petrified for her life, Oralie turned the handle. The door hit the wall with a clang. Oralie gasped in sharply as she examined a man, covered in burns, leaning against her front porch's railing heavily. "Kenric?" she breathed, unable to trust the world anymore. He gave her a tired, lopsided grin. "Miss me?"
