Buck and Chimney must rescue a group of pregnant women trapped in a submerged house. And Ashleigh spends the day with Athena... Buck has a hard time keeping secrets, especially after what Danielle tells him, but when Ashleigh and Danielle's parents arrive in town, how will Ashleigh react? Buck tells Danielle she needs to tell Ashleigh the truth, so Danielle reveals a painful family secret that causes Ashleigh to confront her childhood and answer why she is the daredevil she is today. Meanwhile, Hen's mother unexpectedly arrives and announces she is moving to LA. Athena and the 118 race to save lives after a drunk driver causes a deadly pile-up going the wrong way on the freeway and are shocked to discover who two of the injured is. Athena uncovers a secret Bobby has been hiding that puts their marriage on the rocks, and Maddie struggles with adjusting to motherhood. In the aftermath of the shooting, Athena and the 118 are on high alert when a sniper targets members of the LAFD.

Based on Season Three... Ashleigh is seen enjoying the day with Christopher (Eddie's son) at the beach. However, the beach-goers soon realise a tsunami is heading their way when the waters recede and start running from the beach. Meanwhile, Athena takes action after Michael, May, and Harry experience a traumatic traffic stop, and the 118 race to help protesters at a slaughterhouse and a wife who finds herself trapped in a "rage room."

Based on Season Two... After his devastating family tragedy in Minnesota, Bobby Nash moves to Los Angeles to start over, where he becomes Captain of the 118, and meets Athena Grant for the first time. The first responders deal with a calamity at a chocolate factory and a mail bomb explosion.

Based on Season One... Fast-paced exploration into the lives and careers of first responders... cops, paramedics, firefighters... the people who put their lives on the line to save others. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problem in their own lives.

Based on Season Seven... Ashleigh and Buck finally set a date for the wedding, but when the bride goes MIA on their wedding day. Bobby and Athena's house was set on fire. The house was destroyed, but Athena survives thanks to Ashleigh... though Ashleigh has a heart attack that nearly kills her.
