"You asked me to be your boyfriend, right?"
His breath brushed softly against my face as he bent down, never breaking eye contact. I could hardly think-whether to push him away, step back myself, or just stand there far too close to him.
"So here I am," he muttered.
The spell broke when he twirled a loose strand of my hair between his fingers, and I immediately stepped back, forcing a decent distance between us.

Summary -
"He said he'd be my boyfriend... if I stepped away from the edge."
I thought Kim Taehyung was joking.
He thought I wanted to live.
We were both wrong.
Maripha had spent years surviving a home that stopped feeling like one after her mother died. Left alone with an abusive stepfather, bruises became routine, silence became safer than speaking, and grief slowly hollowed her into someone quieter than she used to be. Standing at the edge one stormy night, death no longer felt terrifying-it felt like relief.
Taehyung had spent most of his life holding everything together. With dead parents, a younger sister depending on him, and responsibilities far heavier than he should have carried, he had no choice but to grow up too fast. Smart, practical, and painfully straightforward, he was used to solving problems-until he found himself breaking in ways logic could not fix.
When their paths collide on a rain-soaked rooftop, two strangers already falling apart begin to understand each other in ways no one else ever could.
Because some people meet at the right time.
They met when both of them were already breaking.
