Tessa, searching through the drone graveyards once again, manages to find you, an anomaly with a mutation in your code that rivals the solver. To Cyn, you are her antithesis, her opposite. Where Cyn revels in the idea of cosmic extinction, you stand as her counterbalance, a divine force driven by one purpose: the protection and preservation of life at all costs. Thus would begin the long rivalry between you and Cyn, the divine being versus the eldritch entity.

A short what-if fic. This is based off of my main fic; Flicker. Instead of finding J like one might expect, S almost doesn't find her. Once they reunite it doesn't go as planned; and S is left wondering if everything is going to be okay. As life goes on S must come to her new reality, one which might not include J. The start of this fic takes over the ending portion of Chapter 38 of Flicker. One of my readers gave me the idea for this thing, and it's pretty sick. And as they grew older, so did their intelligence grow, fixing up any Worker Drone that they could. Becoming closest to three specifically over time. But one day. They fixed up the wrong drone. A seemingly sweet drone. But they could never have imagined what said drone would have done. Leading to the rise of an old enemy once thought to be permanently defeated. But I guess his favorite saying "You kill me, I return stronger." Has some merit eh? Will our hero's survive and perhaps be victorious against their villains? Or will they be defeated and crushed, leaving the fate of the universe looking grim for all those who remain? Stay tuned...

Months before an important gathering would take place, Tessa James Elliott comes across a rarity abandoned in the scrap heap. This oddity proves to be a challenge for the girl, as she and her attendants have to learn to work with a very socially-dense drone. One of her attendants unintentionally grow close with the new drone, leading to thoughts and feelings she'd never properly experienced before.
