College student Chaewon works as a bartender at a pretty popular cafe, but one night as she's being harassed by an extremely drunk man a certain vampire comes to her rescue.. Yunjin's school life in Yangpyeong Academy takes a turn when she meets the new transfer student, Kim Chaewon. The two are complete opposite sides of the spectrum; Yunjin being a complete outcast, and a known 'delinquent'-- Chaewon being smart and proper, already popular at school for hanging around the Student Council and for her good looks. Once their worlds collide, they navigate these new feelings of wanting to get to know each other when they shouldn't, and deal with the heavy burdens of their personal lives. --x-- Chaewon has never felt like this before. The tall girl placed her hands on top of Chaewon's, her thumb trailing across her skin as if it was second nature. She rolled her head back onto the girl's shoulder, her skin sticking to Chaewon's cheek as she looked up at the ceiling. "Why me?" The shorter girl blinked at the question. She tightened her hold around her friend, her hand sliding against Yunjin's cold skin. "Do I need a reason?" She wondered. They were quiet for a moment, listening to each other breathe. In high school, Yunjin was the quiet, eccentric girl who felt out of place among her peers. She found solace in her small group of friends, but Chaewon-always the popular, charming student-seemed like she lived in an entirely different world. Yet, the two shared an unspoken connection, with Chaewon treating Yunjin with a kindness that made her feel seen. Despite their differences, their bond deepened, until that same bond caused them to drift apart. Years later, Yunjin had transformed into a attractive veterinarian, no longer the shy, awkward girl from high school. Unexpectedly, Chaewon walked into her clinic, effortlessly poised and radiant as ever. The brief moment they shared in high school suddenly felt alive again, bringing back memories Yunjin had buried long ago. Would they be able to pick up where they left off, or had too much time passed?

From the road, Chaewon could only make out their broadest features: a woman in a white tank top, her muscled shoulders tanned from the sun, an axe dangling casually in one hand. She had already placed a log in front of her, and as Chaewon watched she lifted the axe above her head and swung it downwards in a single fluid motion, the taut muscles of her arms working so perfectly with the axe they might have all been one. The log split easily into two, as though she were cutting through paper, and the woman picked up the two halves to place them into a neat stack nearby. "Ah," Chan said, catching the line of her gaze, "That's Yunjin. Your new neighbor. Don't mind her too much, she's a little... eccentric." Chaewon liked eccentric. She also liked women who looked like they could tear her in half without too much effort.
