Two Years Ago... Blaz befriended a healer he had rescued from the remnants of the dead. He brought the healer to his werewolf pack in the Northern Mountains and taught the healer how to hunt, how to fight, how to contribute, and how to be a part of something bigger than yourself- a family. And although he had a loving family and friends, he felt that the healer was the one person who understood him and he could confide in. That was until the healer's true nature was revealed. Two Years Later... Blaz was summoned to be a Guard of the Realm by the King of Helios, a position he had to take with great dismay. Under the rule of humans, he will have to be separated from his pack, undergo grueling training, suffer egregious punishments, and be the guard dog of a stubborn, entitled princess. Blaz didn't think his predicament could be any worse...until he is reunited with his scorned friend from two years ago, who has a deadly secret that puts everybody at risk. Between his duty to the princess, his duty to his pack, and his duty to his friend, will he able to protect everyone he loves?

In the first volume of "Patriots": Liza Byers is the eldest daughter of a Catholic, Boston storekeeper in 1775. Her upbringing has been unique in comparison to that of most girls. She has been educated by a French Jesuit in her home and has served as a courier to her father's friends in the Sons of Liberty. While her mother wants her to be a lady, Liza feels the call to join in the revolution in any way she can. She would much rather be riding horses and sitting in on meetings with her father's two apprentices than sipping tea and sewing on samplers. However, she soon learns what it means to be in a war. Her sheltered world is shattered by loss as the war begins, and her parents see the need to hurry her impending arranged marriage in order to secure the future of their business. Through all the tragedy, Liza must learn to use her brain, be resilient, and never cease to be a light to those who are suffering.

"How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick
