'Callista Alerdice'. The name sparks fear in one's heart. You hear it in hushed whispers, and see it in quivering eyes that dare not meet her. Never be decieved by her smile, she's a monster. That's what they all say.
But this has nothing to do with Elias, a seemingly regular omega guy the universe loved to point and laugh at. His pack bullied him for being a rogue descendant, and his foster parents threw him in a shed to get rid of him. His life was the world's most boring melodrama. Obviously, he learned to cope with it, because fate would never let him be loved.
But fate has quite the sense of humor.
~ Excerpt~
"You should reject me." He whispered.
A moment passed in silence. He kept glaring at the floor. He didn't have the courage to look at her expression.
"Hmm..." She pretended to think it over. Anxiety set in and he shrunk into himself. Coward.
"You were quite confident asking me to mark you. Why the change of heart?" He jolted as her hand snaked around his waist. Her fingers gently tapped his lower back and he squirmed. It tickled.
"They'll kill me to get to you. Rej-rejecting me would hurt a lot less than that." He paused. No point in dragging it. He looked straight into her hypnotic gold eyes, and forced the words out of his throat. "I'm not worth the trouble."
She pulled back her arm. For a moment he thought that she was really going to reject him.
"That's for me to decide. Elias."
The breath was knocked out of his lungs when he was pushed into the wall.
"Nobody can touch you, except for me."
