In an alternative universe where no despair reset ever happened, Skylar Doyle who is the child of Callum Doyle and Holly Hurst. This is the sequel of Danganronpa: New Generation of Death, and has connections to it as well. Kimeraretaon Mesagi is the Ultimate Luckster, who was enrolled into the New Hope's Peak Academy, but for some reason, is told to board a giant cruiser ship named, 'Emilia Earhart'. When him and his friends, which included all but Mishiga's class were onboard, they set sail, only to find a mechanical cyborg dressed like a sailor to tell them that they're stranded and the murderer is in the ship to hunt them. The only way for them to survive is to simply survive from getting killed for a certain period of time from the murderer. What happens to the students onboard the 'Emilia Earhart?' will they live to tell the tale?

Astral, le protagoniste de cette histoire, fut nommé « Ultime Lecteur » et put entrer dans l'académie, accompagné d'un groupe d'autres élèves Ultimes. Mais tout ne se passa pas comme prévu. À peine entré dans le bâtiment, Astral s'effondra, inconscient. Il se réveilla à l'intérieur de l'académie... mais les choses avaient changé. Lui et les autres membres de sa classe sont enfermés dans l'établissement. Monokuma, un être étrange ayant l'apparence d'un ours, leur explique les règles : s'ils veulent sortir d'ici... ils devront s'entretuer.
